The Women’s Development Cell (WDC) was a statutory body for the prevention of and action against sexual harassment of women. The main objective of WDC was to look into the grievances of teaching staff, non-teaching staff, and students, especially in cases of gender discrimination. Before the WDC Savitribai Phule Parivartan Manch was introduced in our college for girl students and nearby Women. The Formation of a college-level Women's Development Cell was made mandatory by the University of Mumbai after the Vishakha Judgment. The Formation of a college-level Women Development Cell was established in the year 2003-04. . From 2017, a separate Internal Complaints Committee has been established for the prevention of and action against sexual harassment of women in the workplace. Now the main role of the Women Development Cell is to promote the general well-being of girl students and teaching and nonteaching women staff in College.
The cell is working with the following objectives.
1. To create health awareness of girl students and women staff
2. To make all-round development of girl students and women staff.
3. To enhance social awareness among the girl students and women staff.
4. To develop legal awareness among the girl students and women staff.
