EDUCATIONAL MISSION

AIMS & OBJECTIVES
The Department of Geology is multidisciplinary department established in 2010, committed to the development of academic excellence in teaching. We offer a 3-year B.Sc. Degree in Geology. The department is highly motivated and excited to share both their knowledge and their passion in the field of geology. As an integral part of the undergraduate’s education, the Department carries out fieldwork to ensure that our undergraduate programme is at par with the current requirements in this practical field.
The department also thinking to provide facility of departmental library, to create a strong alumni network which support placement of students and trying to organize National conferences, Poster competitions, Science exhibitions in upcoming time to inculcate research and competitive culture amongst the faculty and students.
1. The aim of the Department is to strengthen its core activities of teaching, training and research. The Department would also like to expand in future, the development of technology and industrial Interaction under its auspices. The main thrust of the Department however is in the areas like Petrology, Mineralogy, Geomorphology, Field Geology etc.
2. The aims at providing expertise in the exploration and exploitation of natural resources and finding effective solutions to geo-environmental problems associated with utilization of natural resources.
3. The origin and evolution of the earth and its inhabitants through the study of rocks, minerals, fossils etc.
4. The setting, types, origin and use of earth resources.
5. An understanding of the changing earth’s environment and its impacts.
6. The need to maintain and improve professional competence in order to give better service to the community.
